Topics of the October 16th seminar Giovanni Maciocia in Amsterdam
We are pleased to welcome Giovanni again to share his experience and knowledge with the customers of the Three Treasures range of products. As participants to previous seminars will know, in the course of these Three Treasures seminars, Giovanni discusses a range of topics beyond the mere application of the remedies. Giovanni conducts these lectures in a way that participants learn not only about the remedies but also about the theory of Chinese medicine in general. Giovanni is open to questions and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about any aspect of Chinese medicine.
ADVANCED TONGUE DIAGNOSIS
This workshop will deal with more advanced aspects of Chinese tongue diagnosis and will assume that participants know the basics of this diagnostic art.
The workshop will discuss the clinical significance of tongue-body colour and some tongue-body shapes. This will be done not in a theoretical way but in a clinically-relevant way with many examples derived from practice. The speaker will also present many new interpretations of tongue diagnosis derived from his 35-years practice.
Particular features of the workshop are:
An interpretation of tongue signs in mental-emotional problems
A discussion of the clinical significance of sub-lingual veins
The use of tongue diagnosis for prognosis in cancer
Use of the tongue in herbal medicine to decide the treatment principle
Clinical significance of the purple tongue
Tongue signs related to the breast and breast pathology in women
This workshop will give participants unique clinical insights in tongue diagnosis that they will be able to apply to their practice immediately.
The workshop will be illustrated with colour slides from the speaker’s practice and also by examining the tongues of some of the participants.
THE TREATMENT OF ENDOMETRIOSIS, POLYCYSTIC OVARY AND MENOPAUSAL PROBLEMS
Endometriosis and polycystic ovary are two common gynaecological diseases that are responsible for significant morbidity and frequently infertility. The seminar will discuss the aetiology, pathology and treatment of these two common and difficult diseases. Th treatment will be based on both acupuncture and herbs.
The second section of this part will discuss the pathology and treatment of menopausal problems.
As previous participants will know, Giovanni is also open to any questions participants might want to raise and, for this purpose, Giovanni can draw upon a large database of Powerpoint presentations on many different aspects of Chinese medicine.
